Privacy Policy
How Kurio Daily handles information when you read our stories, contact us, or leave a reaction.
Who we are
Kurio Daily is an independent editorial website at kuriodaily.com, covering technology, life, culture, and practical guides. For questions about this policy or a request concerning your information, use our contact form and write “Privacy request” in your message.
Information you send us
Our contact form asks for your first and last name, email address, phone number, and message. We receive the fields you choose or are required to complete. Please do not include passwords, payment details, identity documents, or sensitive information about yourself or other people.
We use submissions to answer inquiries, investigate corrections, consider story suggestions, and handle privacy requests. Form entries are managed through Fluent Forms in our WordPress administration area. An inquiry may also be handled through email when replying is necessary. Sending an inquiry does not subscribe you to a newsletter.
Article reactions
Articles offer a choice of reactions rather than a public text-comment form. The reaction feature stores the selected reaction and the associated article in our WordPress database. Public readers see reaction totals, not a list of individual voters.
For visitors who are not signed in, the reaction plugin uses a first-party cookie named bhcr_visitor containing a random visitor identifier. It can remain for up to one year. A hashed identifier is used to recognise a visitor’s vote, allow changes or removal, and reduce duplicate votes. Signed-in reactions can be associated with the WordPress user ID. The plugin can also use a short-lived hashed IP-based identifier for rate limiting; it is not a public profile.
You can change a reaction or select it again to remove it. Clearing cookies may prevent the site from recognising an earlier visitor reaction. Blocking the reaction cookie may affect how this feature works.
Technical information and cookies
Operating and protecting a website involves processing technical information such as an IP address, browser information, requested page, and request time. Our hosting environment and site software may process this information to deliver pages, diagnose problems, and prevent abuse.
WordPress uses additional cookies for administrator sign-in and account preferences. Ordinary readers do not need a WordPress account to read the site. We do not offer public reader registration or public text comments as part of the current site.
You can manage or delete cookies through your browser. Some functional features may not work as intended if their cookies are blocked.
External images, links, and sharing
Some article images load from external providers, including Pexels and Wikimedia Commons. Loading those images sends a request from your browser to the provider, which can receive technical information such as your IP address and browser details. Those providers handle requests under their own policies.
Our share icons are displayed locally. Choosing a social sharing option opens the selected service, such as Facebook, X, or WhatsApp. That service then handles the information you choose to share under its own privacy policy. Copy link copies the article address to your clipboard; where supported, the device’s share menu is handled by your browser or operating system.
Links in articles may lead to other websites. We do not control those websites’ privacy practices. Review their policies before providing personal information.
Advertising and analytics
Our pages load Google AdSense code as we prepare the site for advertising. Auto ads are turned off, and we have not configured visible ad units. Loading the code can send information such as the page address, IP address and browser details to Google, even when no advertisement is displayed. Google may also read or set cookies, subject to applicable settings and browser restrictions.
See how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services, including information about advertising controls and privacy choices.
We do not currently use Google Analytics tracking. We will update this policy and provide any required choices before enabling new advertising, analytics, newsletter or other features that change how information is handled.
Access, retention, and disclosure
Site administrators and service providers involved in operating the website may process information as needed to provide and protect the service. We do not sell contact-form submissions or reaction records.
We keep information for as long as needed to handle the relevant inquiry, maintain the site, prevent abuse, or meet applicable obligations. We review information when it is no longer needed. Copies may remain in operational backups until those backups are replaced. Information may be disclosed when required by law or when reasonably necessary to investigate abuse or protect the site and its users.
Your choices and requests
You can ask us about information you have submitted and request access, correction, or deletion through the contact form. Include enough context to locate the relevant message or record, but do not send sensitive identity documents through the form. We may need to verify a request before acting on it. Available rights and any exceptions depend on the law that applies to your situation.
Changes to this policy
We will revise this page when site features or information practices change. The date above identifies the latest revision.
